Generative Engine Optimization agency in Toronto
We make your brand the source ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google's AI Overviews name when someone in Toronto asks who to hire.

Ask ChatGPT who repairs a fridge same-day in Toronto. You get two or three company names and, often, no links at all. That is a search result. It is also one almost no Toronto business has a plan for.
LumiRank is a Generative Engine Optimization agency in Toronto. GEO is the work of becoming the source a model reaches for: facts it can verify, passages it can quote, and corroboration from places you do not own. Get those right and your name is in the answer. Get them wrong and a competitor's is, permanently, because the person asking never sees a results page to scroll.
We are based in Toronto and most of our clients are here. Two of them publish their Search Console numbers on this site, which is more than most agencies in this category will do.
At a glance
A prompt panel for your market
We write down the 40–80 questions your buyers actually put to an assistant, run them across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and AI Overviews, and record who gets named. That baseline is the whole engagement's scoreboard.
A Toronto entity engines resolve
One name, one address, one set of facts, asserted identically on your site, your Google Business Profile and every directory that carries you. Conflicting records are the most common reason a model hedges instead of recommending.
Corroboration you don't control
Models weight what other sources say about you far more heavily than what you say about yourself. We build the mentions, listings and references that make your claims checkable.
Weekly answer tracking
Share of voice per engine, plus how accurately you're described. Not a rankings PDF — a record of whether the machine says your name, and what it says about you.
What a GEO agency does that an SEO agency doesn't
SEO earns a position in a list. GEO earns a sentence inside an answer. The two overlap at the foundation and diverge sharply after it.
Both need a fast, crawlable, cleanly rendered site. Google's AI surfaces draw heavily on pages already ranking in classic Search, so classical SEO is the entry ticket, not an alternative. What GEO adds is the layer above: an entity a resolver can pin down, content chunked so a single passage answers a single question without needing the paragraph before it, and third-party corroboration that makes the claims verifiable.
The measurement is different too, and this is where most agencies quietly stop. A ranking report cannot tell you whether Perplexity named you. Answer-engine visibility has to be sampled by running the prompts and reading what comes back, engine by engine, week by week. If an agency selling you GEO cannot show you that panel, they are selling you SEO with a new label.
Why Toronto is a harder GEO market than it looks
Toronto's search market has two features that work against you. The first is density: the GTA has more agencies, contractors, clinics and trades per capita than anywhere else in Canada, so almost every commercial query has a crowded set of plausible answers. A model asked to name one has to pick, and it picks on corroboration.
The second is name collision. "Toronto" attaches to thousands of businesses, several of which share your brand name or something close to it. Entity resolution is the bottleneck. Until an engine is confident which company you are, it will not put you in a recommendation, because a wrong recommendation is worse for the model than a vague one.
That is why the first month of a Toronto GEO engagement is usually unglamorous. Fixing conflicting addresses, consolidating duplicate profiles, and getting one canonical set of facts published in machine-readable form moves the needle more than any content calendar.
The first 90 days
Weeks 1–2: the baseline. We build the prompt panel, run it across every major engine, and write down exactly who gets named for what. We audit your entity: schema, Google Business Profile, directory records, and every place your name and address appear inconsistently. You get the panel and the audit whether or not you continue.
Weeks 3–6: the foundation. Entity consolidation, structured data, and the technical fixes that decide whether a retriever can read your pages at all. This is the least visible work and the highest leverage.
Weeks 7–12: source engineering and corroboration. We rewrite or build the pages that answer your market's real questions in quotable form, and start the off-site work that makes those answers verifiable. The panel re-runs weekly the whole time, so movement is visible rather than argued about.
Proof from two GTA businesses
Osoba Renos is a home renovation contractor working across Toronto and the GTA. Search clicks rose 56.1% comparing the most recent three months to the prior three, Semrush independently estimates organic traffic up 43% over its own window, its brand queries sit at position 1, and four non-branded service and near-me queries hold page one. The portfolio was never the problem. Finding it was.
Valve Appliance Repair does same-day appliance repair across the GTA with a 5.0 Google rating. In the seven weeks after its local and entity foundation went live, impressions rose 631% and clicks 331% period over period, from a standing start. Average position is still in the high twenties and the click-through rate is low, which we say plainly: that is a young site surfacing broadly and converting little of it yet, which is what week seven honestly looks like.
Both figures come from the clients' own Search Console, and both case studies show the source period. We publish movement rather than raw totals because the totals are the client's private data.
What GEO costs, and who it isn't for
Our published retainers start at $299 CAD a month for self-serve reporting with no execution work, and $1,999 CAD a month for active execution across search, AI, paid media and social with weekly reporting. Enterprise programs are quoted individually.
GEO is a poor fit if you need leads next week. Entity and technical corrections land in weeks, but visibility inside answer engines compounds over quarters as corroborating mentions accumulate and engines refresh what they know about you. It is also a poor fit if you want a ranking guarantee. Nobody can guarantee a language model's output, and an agency that offers to is telling you something useful about itself.
Generative Engine Optimization agency in Toronto: common questions
What is a GEO agency?
A GEO agency works on Generative Engine Optimization: making a brand the source that AI answer engines cite, paraphrase and recommend. Instead of optimizing for position in a list of links, the work targets being named inside a single synthesized answer in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Copilot or Google's AI Overviews. It is measured in citations and share of voice rather than clicks.
How is GEO different from SEO in Toronto specifically?
The technical foundation is the same, and classical SEO remains the entry ticket because Google's AI surfaces draw heavily from pages already ranking. What differs in a market as dense as the GTA is entity resolution. Thousands of Toronto businesses share names or near-names, so until an engine is confident which company you are, it will not name you in a recommendation. Consolidating your entity usually matters more here than content volume.
How long before GEO work shows up in AI answers?
Technical and entity corrections land in weeks. Movement in share of model voice typically becomes measurable across one to two quarters, as corroborating third-party mentions accumulate and engines refresh what they know about the brand. It compounds rather than switching on, which is why we re-run the prompt panel weekly instead of reporting quarterly.
Can you guarantee ChatGPT will recommend my business?
No, and neither can anyone else. We guarantee the work and the measurement: the research, entity architecture, source engineering and citation building shipped on the schedule your tier sets out, plus the reporting cadence. A language model's output depends on its training data, its retrieval index and its own ranking, none of which any agency controls.
Do you only work with Toronto businesses?
Most of our clients are in Toronto and the GTA, and we work remotely with businesses across Canada. Being physically in Toronto matters for local search work — service-area coverage, Google Business Profile, and understanding how the market actually searches — less so for national GEO programs.
What do I get in the first two weeks?
A prompt panel of the 40–80 questions your buyers put to assistants, the current answers from every major engine with names recorded, and an entity audit covering your schema, Google Business Profile and directory records. Those deliverables are yours whether or not the engagement continues.
